26305 - Senior Python Backend Engineer – OpenShift / API Integration / GenAI

Responsibilities

For an innovative GenAI project in the insurance environment, we are looking for an experienced Senior Python Backend Engineer. The goal is the development and integration of an AI-supported solution for digital conversation preparation for the field service.

Together with a GenAI Engineer and an existing development team, you will be responsible for the technical implementation from development, integration, and testing to production-ready deployment.

• Development and implementation of backend services and APIs with Python
• Integration of an AI-based agent solution into an existing chat assistant platform using Agent-to-Agent Communication (A2A)
• Deployment and operation of containerized applications on Open PaaS / OpenShift
• Implementation of CI/CD pipelines, database connections, monitoring, and security
• Execution of automated tests and ensuring software quality
• Co-designing the solution together with the existing development team
• Close collaboration with architecture, security, platform, and specialist teams
• Creation of technical documentation and handover of developed components

Requirements

• Several years of experience in backend development with Python
• Sound knowledge in API design and development of REST APIs
• Practical experience with OpenShift, Open PaaS, and containerized applications
• Very good DevOps knowledge in CI/CD, Git, automated tests, and deployment
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, and data modeling
• Experience with monitoring, security, and production-ready deployment
• Experience with the integration of AI agents and Agent-to-Agent Communication (A2A) is an advantage
• Independent, structured way of working and strong team skills
