26309 - Senior Python Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Senior Python Backend Engineer / Software Architect (m/f/d) with profound expertise in the development of modern, scalable microservices and event-driven software architectures.

In this demanding role, you will take technical responsibility for the conception, development, and further development of cloud-native backend solutions. You will actively contribute your architectural expertise, establish best practices, and support the development team in implementing high-quality software solutions.

• Conception, development, and further development of scalable backend applications with Python, FastAPI, and FastStream
• Design and implementation of microservices and event-driven architectures with Apache Kafka
• Creation and further development of software architectures, considering scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Development, integration, and optimization of REST APIs as well as implementation of modern API management concepts
• Deployment and operation of containerized applications on Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Ensuring high code quality through Clean Code, Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and automated tests
• Conducting code reviews as well as defining and establishing technical development standards
• Further development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines and development processes
• Technical guidance and professional support for other developers
• Close collaboration with agile, interdisciplinary teams

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of Python and modern Python frameworks, especially FastAPI
• Practical experience with FastStream and event-driven architectures
• Very good knowledge in the development and operation of microservices
• Profound experience with Apache Kafka
• Several years of practical experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Very good knowledge in API management as well as in the design and development of REST APIs
• Experience in the conception, creation, and evaluation of software architectures
• Demonstrable experience with code reviews and the establishment of development standards
• Profound knowledge in Clean Architecture, Clean Code, Domain-Driven Design, and test automation
• Very good knowledge of Git and modern CI/CD processes
• Experience with agile development methods such as Scrum and Kanban
• Strong analytical and communication skills as well as a high awareness of quality
• Very good German and good English skills
