• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a PLC Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation systems
• Experience within food & beverage manufacturing environments

• German language skills

About the role

Our client is looking for two Senior PLC Engineers to support a large-scale automation programme within the food & beverage sector, focused on pet food manufacturing facilities across multiple international locations.

The successful consultants will play a key role in PLC software development, systems integration, commissioning and automation delivery across a variety of production sites. You’ll be involved in both the development and deployment of control systems, ensuring reliable operation of manufacturing processes and supporting site commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle.

The first month of the assignment will be spent onsite at the organisation’s headquarters in Austria, working closely with the core engineering team. Following this, the role will primarily be remote, combined with regular travel to customer sites across Europe and Central Asia, supporting installation, commissioning and project delivery activities.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop, modify and optimise PLC software for industrial automation systems
• Design and implement Rockwell-based control solutions
• Support SCADA system integration and configuration
• Carry out onsite commissioning, testing and troubleshooting activities
• Work closely with electrical, controls and project engineering teams
• Diagnose and resolve automation, controls and system performance issues
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Support deployment across multiple manufacturing facilities
• Produce and maintain technical documentation where required
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with customer and operational requirements
