Experienced DevOps Platform Engineer needed for the development and operation of a Kubernetes cluster on AWS (EKS) in Cologne. The role involves ensuring platform stability, scalability, and security, with a focus on automation and developer experience.

For our client in Cologne, we are currently looking for an experienced DevOps Platform Engineer (m/f/d) starting immediately for the development/operation of the Kubernetes cluster on AWS (EKS).

Task Description:
As a specialized DevOps Engineer, you will be an indispensable part of the agile platform team and contribute significantly to the stability, scalability, and security of our cloud platform:
- Start asap
- Full-time
- up to 90% remote (otherwise Cologne)
- maximum hourly rate: 75.00 EUR
- initial contract until the end of the year
- extension planned (up to 2 years)
- Development and operation of Kubernetes clusters on AWS (EKS) with the goal of offering development teams a reliable, self-serviceable platform.
- Taking responsibility for both the infrastructure and the observability and security of our platform.
- Automation of infrastructure and deployments.
- Implementation and expansion of observability stacks using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, and CloudWatch
- Consulting with Developer Experience teams to optimize the development environment and create 'Golden Paths' for our development teams.
- Continuous optimization of the platform regarding performance, security, scalability, and developer experience.
- Documentation of work in a transparent and understandable manner.
Requirements
- You have extensive experience with Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
- You have comprehensive expertise in AWS, including EC2, VPCs, IAM, EKS, S3, and Lambda.
- You are not afraid of the 'Multicloud' topic.
- You have experience with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure-as-Code.
- The principles of self-service, developer experience, and inner quality are particularly important to you.
- You are motivated to automate processes and keep systems constant and reliable.
- You enjoy working in a team, sharing your knowledge, and always maintain a positive tone.
- You are willing to take responsibility
- including on-call duty.
