Manage and expand the container platform for the CalNet accident network, focusing on migrating custom applications to Kubernetes and advising on containerization best practices.
Project overview
The assignment concerns managing and expanding the container platform of the accident network CalNet.
Profile of the suited interim professional:
- Migrating custom applications on virtual Linux servers to container applications within a Kubernetes cluster
- Setting up the Kubernetes cluster across two geographically separated locations, including takeover and shared use
- Advising on the setup of containers, the container registry (GitLab), container infrastructure, network policies, and namespaces
- Performing configuration and testing activities together with employees of the RIVM
- Transferring knowledge to employees of the RIVM, possibly through a short course
- Advising on adjustments in working methods, for example towards short-cycle development methods
- Ample demonstrable experience with setting up a simple but robust container architecture focused on high availability
- Demonstrable experience with transferring knowledge and skills, to be substantiated with references
- Knowledge and experience with Helm charts, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Linux applications, and GitLab CI/CD/registry (preferred)
- Experience with the use and setup of VMWare for virtual Linux servers and SRM (preferred)
