PHP Developer with experience in Agentic Engineering (m/f/d)

The Project

We are looking for an experienced PHP developer for a client who already uses AI-powered coding agents productively. This involves an extensive web application (PHP 8.3+) that maps complex administrative processes in the public sector. In addition to further developing the application itself, the goal is also to further expand the agent-assisted way of working within the team.

• Implement new features and specifically optimize existing modules
• Analyze functional requirements and translate them into implementable technical tasks
• Use coding agents for analysis, implementation, refactoring, testing, and code reviews
• Co-design agent workflows: Which tasks are suitable for agents, what context do they need, how can understandable and maintainable results be achieved?
• Take responsibility for quality, from architecture to functional correctness
• Several years of solid PHP experience, including with established legacy applications
• Practical experience with coding agents in real projects (features, refactorings, or bug fixes), which can be explained with concrete examples
• Confidence in structuring tasks for agents, providing them with the right context, and intervening when results go in the wrong direction
• Critical view of generated code: take responsibility for checking, testing, architecture, security, and maintainability yourself
• Initiative and enjoyment in sharing knowledge within the team
• Experience with JavaScript frontend frameworks for business applications (ideally ExtJS)
• Experience with software for administration, the public sector, or other technically complex domains
• Own extensions for coding agents (e.g., skills, MCP connections, hooks)
• Atlassian Stack (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence)
