Job description

As an AI Governance Advisor within the CDO-Office for Justice and Security, you will translate compliance requirements into practical solutions for responsible AI use, supporting the core team in developing execution policies and assessment frameworks.

Project overview

Assignment Description Profile "From rules to experience: you ensure a predictable team rhythm and translate compliance requirements into clear, understandable, and usable solutions for technical and non-technical users." As an AI Governance Advisor, you will work in the CDO-Office for Justice and Security (JenV). You are part of the core team that creates execution policies and assessment frameworks that ensure responsible use of algorithms and AI. You provide substantive knowledge and connect the world of technology with law and policy. You will support the core team in the breadth of the work. Tasks

  • You formulate clear guidelines and practical handbooks for every step in the AI process: from business analysis and model development to deployment and monitoring. These are based on legal frameworks (including AI regulation), government standards (including the BZK algorithm framework), and best practices from the field.
  • You facilitate data and AI teams and other CDO offices in applying policy in practice, identify compliance gaps, and help remove obstacles and uncertainties.
  • You contribute to building a community within JenV where data scientists and policy officers find each other as ambassadors for responsible algorithm use.
  • You contribute to clear process agreements, checklists, and templates for each step in the policy development process to anchor them.
  • You support project management regarding reviews, decision-making, and documentation: stakeholder management, communication, version control, change control, and an demonstrable audit trail. Competencies
  • Organizing & Structuring: You bring order, maintain an overview, and make agreements explicit and testable.
  • Facilitating & Connecting: You ensure a safe and effective team rhythm and involve the right stakeholders at the right time.
  • Quality-Oriented & Risk-Aware: You ensure the traceability, reliability, and security of AI processes.
  • Results-Oriented & Service-Oriented: You help teams remove obstacles and ensure that policies and frameworks actually land in practice. Requirements Candidate has HBO/WO thinking and working level, preferably in (technical) business administration, information management, or a related field. Candidate has at least 2 years of demonstrable experience in one or more phases of the AI production process. From the technical side or the governance, compliance, or risk management process. Candidate has knowledge of (European) AI legislation and governance frameworks (e.g., AI Act, BIO). Candidate has experience with stakeholder management and translating complex subjects into clear, applicable working methods and communication. Candidate is only eligible for award if a minimum of a pass (6) is scored on each mentioned interview criterion. Wishes Candidate has experience with setting up and ensuring work processes, including planning, progress monitoring, quality control, and documentation in an agile working environment and has basic knowledge of tooling for collaboration and backlog management (e.g., Gitlab). Candidate has experience within an administrative context; preference for government. Candidate possesses strong communication and writing skills: you make complex technical subjects understandable for policy and execution. Candidate holds certifications such as Certified AI Compliance Officer (CAICO) or AI Governance Professional (AIGP). Candidate has experience with risk and quality management standards, such as ISO standards 9001, 31000, and 42001. Candidate has experience with formulating standards, policies, or architecture documents within a complex (administrative) environment. Other Hybrid working is possible. Generally, there is a 50/50 policy, and deviations are possible in consultation. Additional Information When you offer a professional to us as a supplier and they are placed, we will need information from you as a contracting party, including regarding the Chain Liability (Wet keten- en inlenersaansprakelijkheid). The 'WKA' aims to prevent abuse in the remittance of payroll taxes at all links in the chain; from supplier to client. We cover these risks for our clients through a blocked account, the G-account. This is an account to which a portion of the invoice amount is deposited and from which you can pay payroll taxes and VAT to the Tax Authorities. The percentage to be deposited depends on whether you have a SNA certification (NEN-4400-1 or NEN-4400-2) and whether your company is located in the Netherlands or abroad. You can apply for the G-account from the Tax Authorities. If you cannot obtain a G-account (and you can provide proof of this from the Tax Authorities), you also have the option to provide an accountant's statement (assurance report regarding personnel lending) every quarter. In this, a certified accountant (AA or RA) will issue a statement about the correctness, completeness, and timeliness of the remittances. Please note that the costs for this statement are at your own expense.
