AI/ML Engineer for RPA and Automation Solutions

Project overview

We are looking for an AI/ML Engineer (m/f/d) for RPA and automation solutions for one of our clients on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and technically evaluate suitable use cases for RPA, AI, and ML.
• Accompany business analysis of selected automation cases and derive technical implementation possibilities.
• Technically support and implement two Proofs of Concept based on UiPath.
• Support the technical introduction of the UiPath platform.
• Design, implement, monitor, and further develop ML and AI solutions in the context of intelligent process automation.
• Advise business departments on the use of AI/ML technologies in collaboration with Data Analysts and Data Engineers.
• Regularly evaluate available ML and AI frameworks on the market and assess their suitability.
• Help build reporting and monitoring structures for the pilot and subsequent operation.
• Support training concepts for selected employees and provide technical guidance for training measures.
• Document lessons learned and best practices from the pilot phase.
• Structure requirements for data, interfaces, backend components, and operating processes and prepare them for implementation.
• Consider data protection, compliance, and ethical requirements in the development of data-based solutions.

• Completed university degree with an IT focus, e.g., in a STEM field, Digital Business Management, or a comparable degree program.
• Several years of professional experience in AI/ML engineering with a focus on backend engineering.
• Good written and spoken German and English skills.
• Solid understanding of the AI/ML lifecycle from data source through development and production to operation and further development.
• Profound knowledge in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing.
• Very good programming skills in Python and experience with ML/DL libraries, frameworks, and lifecycle toolsets.
• Knowledge in C#, Java, JavaScript, and React.
• Experience with Big Data platforms and databases such as SQL, NoSQL, or Hadoop.
• Knowledge in the use of low-code and no-code tools.
• Understanding of data ethics, data protection, and compliance, especially data security, GDPR, bias avoidance, and data minimization.
• Experience with agile practices such as Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, Pair Programming, and modern software development.

Project Background:

The project aims to pilot a Robotic Process Automation solution based on UiPath in a large organization with potential scaling to several thousand users. During the pilot phase, suitable automation cases will be identified, analyzed, and implemented as Proofs of Concept. The focus is on technical support for platform introduction, design and further development of intelligent automation solutions, and enabling selected employees. The results of the pilot will form the basis for further expansion of RPA, AI, and ML-supported process automations.
