AI Scientist (LLM, Databricks, Python) for Pricing and Cross-Selling, Freelance

Project overview

For a wholesale client, we are looking for a freelance AI Scientist. Two revenue-generating projects are being developed on the existing Databricks platform. Firstly, AI-supported pricing, where prices for customers and especially new customers are calculated based on various attributes. Secondly, up-selling and cross-selling within the existing customer base, i.e., targeted product recommendations based on purchase history.

A proprietary Large Language Model is already operated in-house and will be connected to the Databricks environment. Building on this, custom agents and custom neural networks will be developed using movement data from Sales and Procurement. Work will be done collaboratively with internal colleagues and other external specialists.

Responsibilities

• Connecting the existing LLM to the existing Databricks environment
• Building custom agents based on movement data from Sales and Procurement
• Developing custom neural networks for pricing and cross-selling in Python on Databricks
• Determining prices for customers and new customers based on defined attributes
• Providing data-based foundation for up-selling and cross-selling in the existing customer business
• Technical coordination with users from Sales and Purchasing
• Knowledge transfer to internal colleagues

Requirements

Advantageous

• Several years of project experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or AI Engineer
• Productive use of Databricks, including Python, PySpark, and MLflow
• Models brought into productive operation, not just prototypically
• Experience with transaction data from Sales or Purchasing
• Either connecting LLMs to proprietary company data (RAG, Vector Search, Agents) or building pricing, recommendation, and probability models
• Confident demeanor in coordination with business departments
• Fluent German, as communication with users at the locations is conducted in German
• Both focus areas, i.e., language models and classical modeling
• Experience in retail or wholesale
• Unity Catalog, Model Serving, Feature Store
• Impact measurement through A/B tests or comparable methods
