Job description
Seeking an API Developer for a 26-month project in Frankfurt am Main, starting November 2026. The role involves developing and maintaining REST endpoints using AWS services.
Responsibilities
- Development and maintenance of REST endpoints with AWS API Gateway and AWS Lambda
- Implementation of various integration types: Proxy, Mapping, and Aggregation
- Design and versioning of endpoints according to specified conventions
- Implementation and testing of role-based access controls based on JWT claims
- Handling of error cases and development of fallback strategies
- Coordination of API contracts and data models with connected backend domains
- Creation and maintenance of OpenAPI specifications and test cases

- Several years of experience in developing REST APIs and integration platforms
- Very good knowledge of AWS API Gateway and AWS Lambda
- Experience with API security, JWT, role-based access control, and Least Privilege
- Experience with OpenAPI, mapping, and aggregation of distributed backend systems
- Knowledge of Observability, test automation, and engineering tools such as Instana, Graylog, Cucumber, Playwright, Gatling, WireMock, and GitLab CI/CD
- Experience with Java 21, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes (AWS EKS)
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, Infrastructure-as-Code, AWS backend services, and PostgreSQL on AWS RDS
- Experience in agile development and collaboration with dependent systems
- Knowledge of business customer context models or comparable organizational and role structures
- Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript is an advantage
- Very good German language skills
