Automation Lead - Freelance Cyber

Project overview

We are looking for a freelance Automation Lead to support a large international group in evolving its cyber defense system. You will manage a team of 3 to 4 engineers responsible for automation and detection engineering. The scope covers over 130 operational playbooks and over 400 detection rules managed in Detection as Code. Your role will be to reduce the analysts' workload by leveraging automation, orchestration, and AI, while ensuring the quality and timely delivery of projects.

• Ensure task allocation, prioritization, and workload balance within a team of 3 to 4 engineers
• Deliver projects on time, within the defined scope, and according to established quality standards
• Enforce best practices for development, testing, and deployment
• Improve the CI/CD workflow for delivering and maintaining detection rules on the team's security tools
• Maintain and evolve over 130 operational playbooks (enrichment, automated remediation, and processes)
• Ensure the operational maintenance and relevance of over 400 detection rules managed via a Detection as Code workflow
• Reduce analyst workload through advanced automation and AI-powered processes
• Integrate AI into alert triage and investigation support to strengthen the overall security posture
• Drive innovation within the CyberDefense team by leveraging AI, orchestration, and emerging technologies
• Dedicate time to training
• Facilitate technical knowledge sharing (workshops, technical meetings) and present key highlights to the entire CyberDefense team
