Job description
Experienced Avaloq specialist with Java backend development skills needed to join an Agile Release Train (ART) working on strategic projects and continuous development of a banking platform. The role involves parametrization, development, and integration, with a focus on Kafka and event streaming.
Project overview
Our client develops and operates the Avaloq Core Banking Platform in the area of investments & pensions using the DevOps approach. As part of a large Agile Release Train (ART), the team works according to SAFe and SCRUM on strategic initiatives and the continuous development of the banking platform.
To strengthen the team, we are looking for an experienced Avaloq specialist with sound Java development skills who will actively shape the implementation of demanding projects.
Responsibilities
- Parametrization and further development of portfolio management functions and master data extensions within the Avaloq Banking Platform
- Participation in a large-scale refactoring in the area of investment proposals, particularly of functions, interfaces, and service calls
- Design and development of event streaming interfaces for connection to a central, Kafka-based integration platform
- Support and further development of Java-based backend components
- Analysis and implementation of business and technical requirements in close cooperation with relevant stakeholders
- Support of ongoing operations as well as analysis and resolution of technical disruptions
- Active participation in an agile DevOps team according to SAFe and SCRUM
Requirements
General framework conditions:
- At least 5 years of experience in Avaloq parametrization and several years of experience in Java backend development
- Sound knowledge in the parametrization of portfolio management functions and master data
- Experience in the development and integration of interfaces; knowledge of Kafka and event streaming is advantageous
- Experience with agile development methods such as SAFe and SCRUM
- Willingness to take on operational responsibility within the framework of the DevOps approach
- Strong analytical skills, quick comprehension, and a structured, solution-oriented way of working
- Open, communicative personality with a strong team spirit
- Enjoyment and interest in topics related to investments & pensions

- Assignment: from January 1 to December 31, 2027
- Work location: onsite at the client's premises in Zurich
- Good German and English skills mandatory
