Azure Cloud Engineer – Platform Engineering & Operations

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer for a fully remote position to support a Proof-of-Concept initiative. In this role, you will design and validate an enterprise-wide Azure cloud platform that creates secure, scalable, and repeatable foundations.

As a Cloud Architect and Platform Engineering Specialist, you will define and validate the target architecture, implement an Azure Landing Zone according to the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, and build reusable, secure self-service platform capabilities. This includes identity management, networking, compute, containers, storage, monitoring, and shared services.

Your responsibilities include establishing secure connectivity patterns, implementing Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM Templates, defining CI/CD and GitOps standards, and embedding governance and security controls through Azure Policy, Management Groups, and RBAC.

You will establish observability practices via Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights, ensure reliability through service ownership and disaster recovery, and collaborate with various stakeholders to capture requirements and demonstrate POC results.

Required are at least 10 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud engineering, or technology operations, 7+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience in enterprise-wide environments, and 5+ years of cloud or platform architecture experience with responsibility for standards and governance.

This is a 12-month contract with an option to extend. The position is fully remote.
