Azure DevOps Engineer, Germany

Project overview

For our client in Hannover, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and open-minded Azure DevOps Engineer (50%).

In this role, you will support a company in the leasing and financial services industry in Germany in building and further developing a modern Azure-based IT architecture. You will be responsible for the conception, automation, and optimization of standardized CI/CD processes and create the technical prerequisites for secure, efficient, and scalable production operation. You will work closely with various development teams and accompany the transition from the proof-of-concept phase to productive operation.

Responsibilities

• Setup, configuration, and further development of Azure DevOps, especially Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, and YAML-based CI/CD pipelines
• Development and automation of reusable deployment processes and pipeline frameworks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Implementation and management of repository structures, branch policies, permissions, service connections, and security mechanisms
• Standardization and automation of build, test, validation, and deployment processes for APIs, adapters, and Camunda process artifacts
• Ensuring quality, traceability, and security through quality gates, automated tests, versioning, and security scans
• Implementation of monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for monitoring and analyzing deployments and operational processes
• Development of rollback, redeployment, and recovery mechanisms, as well as creation of technical documentation and operating manuals
• Support for development teams through standardized templates, automated workflows, and best practices for reliable production operation

Azure, DevOps

• Several years of practical experience as an Azure DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Platform Engineer with in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Azure environment
• Very good knowledge of Azure DevOps, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, YAML, and Git, as well as experience with CI/CD architectures and automation
• In-depth practical experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Bicep, including deployment, state management, and change controls
• Experience with repository governance, branch policies, service connections, and modern authentication methods such as OIDC and Workload Identity Federation
• Good knowledge of artifact management, automated quality assurance processes, deployment strategies, and rollback mechanisms
• Technical understanding of APIs, OpenAPI, BPMN, and DMN, as well as ideally initial exposure to Camunda or comparable workflow platforms
• Experience with monitoring, observability, technical operational processes, and the creation of runbooks is an advantage
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working, as well as enjoyment of collaboration with agile development teams
• Very good German language skills
