Background, reason for hiring, and/or objective of the assignment

The central Cloud Competence Center is looking for a junior Azure Cloud Infra Engineer who can further develop networking and security settings and support the secure implementation of cloud services and platforms using various resources within Azure. You will work in a multidisciplinary team with a Product Owner who has extensive experience in setting up cloud environments and external secure connections. The team consists of a skilled lead architect, cloud engineers, and cloud administrators.

Required activities or performance objectives (potential tasks and responsibilities)

The following activities belong to the Azure junior Cloud Infra Engineer position:

• Co-design and develop a solution architecture for Cloud network services.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Private Link and Private Endpoints, and Azure Resource Management is a must.
• Support in setting up Cloud services within Azure cloud, such as APIM, Application Gateways, Logging infra, etc.
• Support with necessary management and patch management tasks.
• Support with deployments focused on data science, including Kubernetes and Databricks.
• Perform Cloud engineer tasks such as resource deployment and setting up network infrastructure, including firewalling.
• Further develop Azure pipelines (IaC) in Terraform, ARM/Bicep

• The candidate has at least a completed HBO (higher professional education) degree.
• The candidate has at least 2 years of relevant work experience with cloud services.
• The candidate has at least 2 years of demonstrable work experience in cloud infrastructure and infra engineering in the Azure cloud with knowledge of associated Azure Cloud services (incl. best practices, industry standards, and Azure network security).
• The candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience in network security and concepts like Zero Trust, as evidenced by the CV.
• The candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience in 'everything as code' and CI/CD delivery in an agile environment, for example with YAML/JSON templates, Terraform.
• The candidate possesses knowledge and experience with various components within Azure, including Azure Firewall (or similar), Azure services.
• The candidate possesses at least 1 year of relevant experience with YAML, JSON, as evidenced by the CV.
• Candidate is available within x number of weeks after award:
• The candidate has x number of years of experience as an Azure infra engineer with tools such as Azure DevOps, Azure Firewall (or similar)
• The candidate has x number of years of relevant experience with “Everything as code” including developing and maintaining Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Terraform, YAML/JSON templating, resource deployment.
• The candidate has x number of years of experience with Kubernetes
