Azure Project Manager

Project overview

An IT consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the delivery of Microsoft-focused professional services engagements, with a particular emphasis on Azure Cloud technologies.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, project coordination and an understanding of Microsoft cloud technologies.

This is a project delivery and stakeholder management role rather than a hands-on technical engineering position, although a good understanding of Azure and Microsoft cloud services is important.

• Manage end-to-end delivery of Microsoft Azure and cloud-related professional services projects
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams, customers and external stakeholders throughout project delivery
• Develop and maintain project plans, defining scope, milestones, deliverables, dependencies and success criteria
• Coordinate technical consultants, cloud engineers and other delivery resources to ensure project milestones are achieved
• Monitor project progress, budgets, risks and issues, implementing corrective actions where necessary
• Manage stakeholder communications, project reporting and governance activities
• Ensure project delivery aligns with agreed timelines, commercial commitments and customer expectations
• Support project initiation, resource planning, delivery tracking and project closure
• Maintain project documentation, including RAID logs, status reports and delivery schedules
• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure, cloud or Microsoft technology projects within a professional services or consultancy environment
• Good understanding of the Microsoft technology stack, particularly Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure services
• Experience coordinating Azure migrations, cloud deployments, infrastructure modernisation or Microsoft technology implementations
• Strong project planning, scheduling, budget management and delivery coordination skills
• Experience managing technical delivery teams and third-party stakeholders
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid project delivery methodologies
• Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira or similar
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple project activities and competing priorities
• Microsoft Azure cloud migration or transformation project experience
• Exposure to Microsoft 365, Entra ID, networking, security and cloud infrastructure
• Experience working for a Microsoft Partner or IT managed services provider
• PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or equivalent project management certification
