Assignment Description

We are looking for an experienced Back End Developer / Engineer for a team responsible for the release management of the organization's main applications. The assignment involves further developing and streamlining the release process through improved follow-up, automation, and quality assurance.

The organization is transitioning from Jira to a new tool and needs to establish a separate database for release follow-up. You will analyze dependencies and automations between Jira projects and release tools, as well as design and implement a suitable technical solution. A central part of the assignment is to further develop an existing dashboard into a comprehensive decision support system with clear performance and stability metrics, defined thresholds, and quality gates with the status levels approved, warning, and blocked.

The solution should also provide release managers with clear next steps and automatically create tickets and send notifications for deviations, without negatively impacting the release pace.

The solution should initially support the organization's most important Android and iOS applications, with the possibility of future expansion. You will work closely with release managers, data scientists, and release engineers to translate needs into functional solutions. The role requires you to be self-sufficient, quickly able to understand existing systems, and deliver results from the start. You are expected to work with both frontend and backend, and ensure that the code is tested, maintainable, and well-documented for continued management.

Requirements

• You must have at least 5 years of experience in software development and documented experience in delivering full-stack features from start to finish.
• You must have strong backend competence in Java and Python, including REST or gRPC APIs and service design.
• You must have experience with React and TypeScript, including the development of user-friendly internal tools and dashboards with large datasets.
• You must have experience with large, existing codebases and be able to work independently with limited supervision.
• You must have good product understanding and be able to translate unclear processes into simple, usable tools.
• You must have good communication skills in speech and writing, and experience collaborating with multiple teams.
• You should have knowledge of mobile app release processes and CI/CD tools.
• You should have experience with plugin development for Backstage.
