Backend Developer SECURITY-CRITICAL WARNING SYSTEMS

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (m/f/d) for the development of a safety-relevant system for automated traveler warnings in the transport and logistics environment. The focus is on the conception and implementation of event-driven backend components with Java, Spring Boot, Axon, and NATS, as well as the processing of schedule, train route, and location data. Additionally, the role includes cloud-native development, setting up automated CI/CD and observability structures, and norm-compliant software development according to CENELEC EN 50126 and EN 50716.

The work will be carried out in an agile, cross-location project team.

Responsibilities

Development and further development of backend components with Java, Spring Boot, Axon, and NATS

Implementation of an event-driven software architecture

Processing of schedule, train route, and location data for automated triggering of warning messages

Cloud-native development with AWS and Kubernetes or OpenShift

Provision and management of infrastructure with Pulumi

Setup and further development of GitLab-CI/CD pipelines

Implementation of monitoring and observability with Grafana, Prometheus, and Tempo

Creation and execution of automated tests

Technical documentation of the developed components

Implementation of software development according to CENELEC EN 50126 and EN 50716

Gradual expansion of the system with additional warning functions and operating points

Must-have Skills

At least 5 years of experience in Java backend development

At least 5 years of experience in backend development with Spring Boot

Demonstrable CENELEC know-how in software development based on at least two reference projects

At least 3 years of experience with hexagonal architecture or comparable architectural approaches

At least 3 years of experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)

Nice-to-have Skills

At least 3 years of experience with observability using Grafana, Prometheus, and Tempo

At least 3 years of experience with AWS

At least 5 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi

Experience with Axon and NATS

Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift

Experience in setting up GitLab-CI/CD pipelines

Knowledge in automated software testing
