Harris Global are currently on the lookout for a Business Analyst with strong D365 Business Central knowledge to join iur client on an iniital 6 month contract.

The role will be moving a heavily integrated BC estate from on-premise to the cloud. This isn't a standard BA or advisory role, you'll need to be hands on, running discovery, defining finance requirements and shaping the future Business Central design.

Candidate must have strong experience delivering a similar project.

• Lead detailed discovery of current finance processes, controls, pain points and dependencies within Business Central
• Work with Finance subject matter experts to turn accounting and operational needs into clear system requirements
• Challenge historic processes and customisations, identifying where standard Business Central functionality can replace them
• Carry out fit-gap analysis to identify where configuration, integration or bespoke development is genuinely needed
• Help define the data migration approach, including Chart of Accounts validation, reconciliation rules, year-end balance checks and acceptance criteria
• Support validation of the future design using representative migrated data in an early cloud test environment
• Map existing integrations and data flows, documenting the impact of moving from on-premise to cloud
• Assess Legacy applications and recommend whether to keep, replace, simplify or retire them
• Run workshops, playbacks and design reviews with Finance, IT, Architecture and the implementation partner
• Maintain requirements, process models, data mappings and decision logs, raising risks and open decisions early
• Help build internal Business Central knowledge so the team relies less on the implementation partner
• Significant hands on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Involvement in a Business Central on-premise to cloud migration, ideally from discovery through to implementation
• Strong finance ERP background with a solid grasp of core finance processes and controls
• Proven experience of complex ERP discovery, requirements gathering and fit-gap analysis
• Strong understanding of financial data migration, validation and reconciliation
• Experience working with Chart of Accounts and finance data structures
• Confident running workshops with Finance stakeholders while challenging existing ways of working
• Experience in environments with multiple integrations and Legacy applications
• Able to do the analysis yourself rather than advising others how to do it
• Business Central finance transformation or finance systems modernisation
• Moving heavily customised ERP estates to a more standard cloud model
• Integration discovery within a Business Central cloud programme
• Working alongside third-party Business Central implementation partners
• Finance process optimisation and automation
• Lease accounting (IFRS 16) experience
