Business Analyst – Power BI / SQL/ETL 80% | Bern

Project: For a client in Bern, we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst in the area of Self-Service Business Intelligence. As part of the project, the person will support the business departments with data, reporting, and BI requirements, working closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, and BI developers.

Responsibilities

• Recording, analyzing, and structured documentation of requirements from business departments in the area of reporting and BI
• Planning, moderating, and conducting workshops with business and IT
• Analyzing existing data stocks using SQL queries
• Analyzing data quality and inconsistencies between different data sources
• Understanding and co-designing data models as well as relationships between source systems, data flows, and key figures
• Translating business requirements into concrete data and reporting requirements
• Conceptualizing BI dashboards, taking existing solutions into account
• Identifying synergies between different reporting and data requirements
• Coordination with Data Engineers and BI developers during implementation
• Coordination with data protection officers for relevant data processing

• Several years of experience in Business Analysis, ideally in the BI, reporting, or data environment
• Experience in recording and documenting business requirements
• Practical experience with SQL and data analysis
• Experience with Power BI and BI/reporting solutions
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
• Experience with AWS Athena
• Understanding of data models and semantic models
• Good understanding of ETL processes and data architectures
• Experience in analyzing and improving data quality
• Experience in moderating workshops and stakeholder management
• Ability to translate business requirements into data and reporting solutions
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working
• Very good communication and consulting skills as well as a confident demeanor at the interface between business and IT
• German fluent in spoken and written
• English: at least B2
