Job description
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst/Requirements Engineer for a major insurance client, focusing on the partner business related to life insurance and occupational pensions (bAV). The role involves analyzing business processes and translating requirements into solution concepts, with practical experience in the Life Factory system being key.
Project overview
For a major insurance client, we are looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Requirements Engineer at the interface between business and IT.
You will analyze business processes and translate business and regulatory requirements into viable solution concepts. Your focus will be on partner business related to life insurance and occupational pensions (bAV). You will bring practical experience with the Life Factory core system and consider requirements for sensitive business, data protection, and anti-money laundering prevention.
Requirements
Clarify business needs with stakeholders, moderate workshops, and check requirements for completeness, consistency, and feasibility.
Analyze and model business processes: Describe current and target processes in life insurance and bAV, identify weaknesses, and derive improvements.
Design and evaluate solutions: Develop business concepts and solution alternatives and evaluate them together with business and IT regarding benefits, regulatory requirements, effort, and impact.
Connect business and IT: Act as the business interface between partner business, development, architecture, data protection, compliance, and anti-money laundering prevention.
Support Life Factory technically: Specify requirements for core system management and coordinate impacts on interfaces, data models, and adjacent systems with IT.
Create implementable specifications: Formulate business rules, user stories, and testable acceptance criteria, document dependencies, and support prioritization with robust decision-making bases.
Integrate protection and compliance requirements: Clarify and technically specify requirements for confidentiality, authorizations, sensitive data, data protection, and anti-money laundering prevention with the responsible departments.
Support implementation and quality: Clarify technical queries, support refinements, derive test cases from requirements, and prepare and support technical tests and acceptances.
The focus is on analysis, conception, and implementation support, not on independent product or roadmap responsibility. Statutory control and approval responsibilities remain with the responsible functions.

Several years of experience as a Business Analyst or Requirements Engineer in the life insurance sector.
In-depth knowledge of occupational pensions (bAV) and related business processes.
Very good knowledge of business process modeling as well as the conception and evaluation of solution alternatives.
Practical experience with the Life Factory core system.
Solid skills in requirements analysis, business conception, user story creation, and definition of acceptance criteria.
Experience in handling sensitive business and personal data, as well as in translating data protection and compliance requirements into implementable specifications.
Technical understanding of anti-money laundering prevention and its impact on business processes and IT systems; specific project experience is particularly relevant.
Technical understanding or an IT background is explicitly desired, ideally with knowledge of system architectures, interfaces, and data models. A developer role is not assumed.
Routine in agile collaboration and with Jira and Confluence or comparable tools.
Analytical and structured way of working, confident workshop moderation, strong communication skills, and very good German language skills.
