Background
Technical Expertise has developed a clear AI vision and identified 20 opportunities for digitalization and artificial intelligence. These opportunities have been prioritized in a roadmap with 3 development horizons.
The next step is to make these opportunities actually feasible and manageable. For this, we are looking for a Business Consultant who ensures that the technical possibilities also deliver value in practice.
Job Description
As a Business Consultant, you connect strategy, people, processes, and technology. For each opportunity, you map out what is needed to realize it successfully. You will specify:
You will work closely with experts within Technical Expertise, the involved process owners, colleagues from the change organization, and other relevant stakeholders. You will ensure coherence between the various AI and digitalization opportunities and monitor alignment with the roadmap.
Thanks to your work, a solid foundation for execution will be created. The opportunities will be translated into concrete plans with clear goals, ownership, decision-making, planning, and measurable results. This will allow technical solutions to land well within the organization and the intended value to be actually realized.
You will thus help Technical Expertise to cope with the growing capacity challenge resulting from the energy transition. At the same time, you will contribute to a future-proof way of working, in which scarce technical expertise is deployed as effectively as possible.
- what changes for employees and teams;
- what consequences this has for existing processes and ways of working;
- who is responsible for the realization and the results;
- what preconditions and success factors are needed;
- how we measure progress and returns;
- how the management team can steer on value, risks, and progress.
Requirements
You have a Bachelor's or Master's working and thinking level, for example in Business Administration, Technical Business Administration, Information Management, Public Administration, or a similar field.
You have several years of experience as a Business Consultant, program manager, project leader, or organizational advisor in digitalization, innovation, data, or artificial intelligence.
You have experience in translating strategic ambitions into concrete plans, with clear goals, ownership, decision-making, planning, and measurable results.
You can bring different interests together and collaborate effectively with employees, process owners, technical experts, and the management team.
You have a good command of the Dutch language, both orally and in writing.
Wishes
You have experience with applying artificial intelligence, data analysis, automation, or other digital solutions in business processes.
You have worked in a complex, technical, or capital-intensive organization, for example within the energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, or utility sector.
You have experience in preparing business cases and substantiating investment decisions.
You know how to map the effects of changes on people, processes, and the organization.
You have experience with portfolio management, roadmaps, program control, or realizing change initiatives.
You have knowledge of topics such as data quality, information security, privacy, ethics, and risk management when applying artificial intelligence.
Experience with agile working, change management, or organizational development is a plus.
This is how you approach it
You are analytical and can reduce complex issues to a clear approach. You look beyond the technical solution and consider the consequences for employees, processes, and the organization. You are organizationally sensitive, ask the right questions, and know how to connect different interests.
You take ownership and drive progress on issues that are not yet fully elaborated. You work result-oriented and pragmatically. You communicate clearly with both technical experts and the management team and can convincingly substantiate your advice.
These are your most important competencies
Strategic insight: you oversee the bigger picture and connect AI opportunities, organizational goals, and the capacity challenge.
Analytical ability: you systematically map complex information, processes, and interests.
Organizational sensitivity: you understand what is happening within different teams and know how to respond carefully.
Connecting ability: you bring people and disciplines together and create support for change.
Result orientation: you translate ambitions into concrete actions and monitor progress and returns.
Pragmatic attitude: you work goal-oriented, make things concrete, and always keep feasibility in mind.
