Experienced freelancer needed for a technically demanding project in precision manufacturing, focusing on CAD design and CAM programming for CNC processes, fixtures, and clamping systems. The role requires 100% onsite work in Berlin.
Project overview
For a technically demanding project in the field of precision manufacturing, we are looking for an experienced freelancer in the field of CAD design and CAM programming.
The focus is on the development, programming, and optimization of CNC machining processes as well as the design of fixtures and clamping systems. The goal is to further develop existing manufacturing processes and ensure efficient and precise implementation of technical requirements.
Important: The activity is full-time and 100% onsite in Berlin. Please be sure to state which materials you have already worked with in your application. Experience with glass and ceramics is particularly desirable. Good German language skills are mandatory.
Responsibilities
Creation and optimization of CAD models and technical drawings
Development and programming of CAM machining strategies for CNC manufacturing
Creation, simulation, and optimization of CNC programs
Design of fixtures, tool holders, and clamping systems
Selection of suitable tools and optimization of machining parameters and manufacturing times
Coordination with manufacturing for the implementation and continuous improvement of machining processes
Analysis of existing manufacturing workflows and identification of optimization potential
Technical documentation and further development of CAD/CAM processes
Support with complex manufacturing requirements in precision machining
Requirements
Completed technical training or degree, ideally in mechanical engineering or production technology
In-depth experience in CAD design and CAM programming
Good knowledge of SolidWorks and SolidCAM or comparable CAD/CAM systems
Experience in the creation, simulation, and optimization of CNC machining programs
Knowledge in the design of fixtures, tool holders, and clamping systems
Understanding of manufacturing technologies, tools, and machining parameters
Practical experience in machining technical materials
Experience with glass and/or ceramics is particularly desirable
Experience in CNC grinding and polishing of optical components is an advantage
Independent, meticulous, and solution-oriented way of working
Good German language skills are mandatory
Willingness for full-time onsite deployment in Berlin
