For our client, a large pharmaceutical company based in Basel, we are looking for a Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technician (m/f/d).

Background:

At our Basel site, we offer an exciting position as a shift worker in an innovative and state-of-the-art production environment. In the Basel Drug Substance area, we are responsible for the production of life-saving active ingredients for cancer therapy in our highly automated production facilities for Single Use Technology (SUT) as well as Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC). Our demanding manufacturing processes are carried out in strict compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and combine the latest technologies with the highest quality standards.

The scope of work includes the production of nutrient media and buffers, carrying out cell cultures, purifying biological active ingredients, and producing and processing ADC products in a highly regulated production environment.

As an operator, you will work across operations within the SUT and ADC business and actively contribute to providing innovative therapies for patients. You will operate and monitor highly automated systems, ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements, and work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team.

The perfect candidate has completed training as a Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technician (or comparable technical field) and has 1-3 years of solid experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical production or biotechnology. They bring proven practical experience in handling automated systems on a production scale and solid IT skills (MS Office, ideally Veeva/MES). Independent, team-oriented work and fluent German and good English skills round off the profile optimally.

• Execution of biotechnological production processes (Upstream, Downstream, ADC) in compliance with GMP guidelines
• Preparation and management of media, buffers, samples, and consumables and single-use materials
• Operation, monitoring, and maintenance of systems, including troubleshooting and alarm management
• Ensuring GMP-compliant documentation as well as document control and closure
• Monitoring of qualified system status and support of material management
• Recording, documentation, and reporting of deviations and special incidents
• Training of employees and ensuring safety, order, and cleanliness in the work area
• Completed vocational training as a Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technician or technical training
• 1-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical production or biotechnology, observing relevant quality and GMP standards
• Experience in handling automated systems on a production scale
• Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) and ideally of Veeva and MES
• Fluent German skills; English skills are an advantage
• Team player; independent way of working
