Cisco Network Engineer – Routing, Switching & WLAN

Project overview

A company requires short-term support from an experienced Cisco Network Engineer as part of an ongoing network modernization.

The existing network infrastructure has grown across multiple locations and is now to be technically unified. In particular, switch configurations, VLAN structures, and WLAN connections need to be revised, as connection problems and performance degradations have repeatedly occurred during operation.

An expert is sought who can analyze the existing infrastructure, design necessary adjustments, and then implement them independently.

Responsibilities

Analysis and optimization of the existing Cisco network infrastructure

Configuration of Cisco Catalyst switches and routers

Revision of existing VLAN and routing concepts

Support with the migration and renewal of network components

Error analysis in the LAN/WLAN area and resolution of performance problems

Documentation of changes and handover to the internal IT team

Requirements

Sound experience with Cisco Routing & Switching

Very good knowledge of TCP/IP, VLAN, OSPF, and BGP

Experience with Cisco Catalyst and ideally Cisco ISE

Knowledge in the area of WLAN and network segmentation

Independent and structured way of working

Good German language skills
