Construction Manager / Site Manager – PV Open-Field System | Leipzig Area

Project overview

For a large-scale photovoltaic project, we are looking for an experienced Construction Manager / Site Manager for deployment in the Leipzig area.

The project includes the construction of an open-field PV system with approx. 52 MWp (DC) / 42 MW (AC), distributed across seven sub-systems, including grid connection via a 30 kV substation.

The system is being built on a former landfill site with special requirements for foundations, surface sealing, and construction execution. The focus is on independent on-site construction management as well as the coordination and supervision of all involved trades and subcontractors.

Project Data

• Start: Expected Q1 2027, approx. 4 weeks before construction begins
• Duration: 6 months with option for extension
• Workload: Full-time, approx. 40 hours/week
• Location: 100% on-site in the Leipzig area

Responsibilities

• Independent construction management and site coordination on an open-field PV system with special landfill requirements
• Coordination of construction roads, underground cable laying, ground screw foundations, and the assembly of substructures and PV modules
• Control and supervision of electrical work as well as the installation of transformer and substation
• Monitoring of landfill-specific regulations, especially driving on the landfill surface exclusively with approved equipment
• Supervision of cable trench work within the water management layer, including separate storage of excavated material and layer-by-layer reinstallation
• Checking installation depths and installation logs of the ground screws
• Maintaining the construction diary and preparing progress, photo, and weekly documentation
• Reviewing measurements and accepting the work of subcontractors
• Ensuring occupational safety according to the site rules of the chemical park, including access regulations, driving permits, and instructions
• Coordination with the Safety and Health Coordinator (SiGeKo)
• Coordination of site logistics, including delivery, storage, and incoming goods inspection of PV modules, inverters, and stations
• Quality control and defect management, including maintaining and tracking punch lists
• Accompanying commissioning as well as technical acceptance and handover

• Several years of professional experience as a Construction Manager / Site Manager in the field of open-field PV systems
• Ideally, project experience with PV systems from 20 MWp
• Experience in coordinating and managing assembly teams, including with foreign-language employees
• Experience on landfill or contaminated sites or in industrial or chemical parks is an advantage
• SCC training is an advantage
• Electrical qualification as a skilled electrician is desirable
• Experience in managing subcontractors and various construction trades
• Structured, independent, and assertive working style
• Willingness for full on-site deployment in the Leipzig area and corresponding travel readiness
• Driver's license
• Very good German skills and basic English skills
