Consultant JD Edwards - IBM i - License Audit

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced consultant for JD Edwards and IBM i environments to assist a client with auditing their software license inventory.

The client has a legacy IT environment based on old machines and potentially old JD Edwards license versions. In this context, they wish to benefit from specific expertise to conduct an inventory of the existing situation, analyze the license situation, and identify any points of attention.

Your missions

Conduct an audit of existing JD Edwards licenses.

Analyze contracts, usage rights, and available license elements.

Examine the consistency between owned licenses, installed software, and actual solution usage.

Consider the specificities of a legacy IBM i environment and its older versions.

Identify potential risks related to license compliance and their maintenance in operational condition.

Formulate concrete recommendations and propose ways to secure the environment.

Assist the client in understanding their situation and in their potential discussions with the relevant publishers or suppliers.

Profile sought

You have solid experience with JD Edwards and IBM i / AS400 environments, ideally gained through audits, expert missions, or management of legacy application portfolios.

You possess in particular:

Good knowledge of the JD Edwards ecosystem and its licensing mechanisms.

Experience with legacy IBM i environments and their specific constraints.

The ability to analyze an existing situation from sometimes old or incomplete documentation.

A methodical, pragmatic, and problem-solving oriented approach.

Good autonomy and excellent analytical skills.

Experience with software compliance audits and legacy license management is a real asset.
