Project overview

A consulting firm specializing in the process industry is seeking an SCM/Operations Consultant / Strategy Consultant for a major mid-sized manufacturer of paints and coatings to develop a long-term production strategy.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

YOUR TALENTS:

• Start: 01.10.2026
• Duration: 6-9 months (extension possible)
• Remote/On-Site: Hybrid, Germany
• Utilization: 80–100%
• Development of a 10-year strategy for the further development of production for a paint and coatings manufacturer
• Analysis of the existing production structure with a complex portfolio of over 10,000 products
• Evaluation of the tension between flexibility and efficiency in make-to-order and make-to-stock production
• Development of future scenarios for optimizing the degree of automation, capacities, and depth of manufacturing
• Conducting and moderating workshops with internal stakeholders and plant management
• Creation of well-founded data analyses (Excel) for evaluating production variants and investment options
• Preparation of results and decision proposals in compelling PowerPoint presentations
• Close coordination and communication with the client at management level
• Development of concepts for a phased restructuring and transformation of production
• Support of the project team in deriving concrete implementation measures

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a consultant in the field of Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Production Strategy
• Demonstrable project experience in the process industry, ideally chemicals, paints/coatings, or related sectors
• Experience in developing long-term production and site strategies
• Very proficient in using Excel for complex data analyses and professional PowerPoint creation
• Experience in the conception and moderation of workshops with various stakeholders
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a structured way of working
• Confident, customer-oriented demeanor and excellent communication skills
• Fluent German language skills
