Seeking an experienced SI Consultant / OCaml Developer for a 2-4 year framework agreement to work on the CATALA open-source software and its technical environment. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining tools for the CATALA language, including functional design aids, testing tools, and user interfaces.
Project overview
As part of a 2 to 4-year framework agreement, we are looking for an experienced SI Consultant – OCaml / CATALA Developer to work on an IT project specializing in the development, evolution, and maintenance of the CATALA open-source software and its technical environment.
The consultant will play a key role in the design, development, and improvement of tools associated with the CATALA language. They will notably participate in the creation of tools to aid functional design, facilitating the writing, management, and use of technical and functional specifications.
They will also be responsible for contributing to the development of testing and debugging tools to facilitate the verification, analysis, and correction of CATALA programs. These tools must meet the needs of development teams, but also be accessible to business users who do not necessarily have in-depth IT skills.
The position involves a significant dimension of software development and functional programming, primarily around OCaml and CATALA, but also JavaScript and TypeScript for user interface design. Knowledge of Java and C will be used to contribute to compiler improvements and corrections.
The consultant will also participate in the development of new features, connectors, and adapters to evolve existing solutions and meet new client needs. They will contribute to improving the performance, reliability, and quality of processing carried out by CATALA tools.
A portion of their activity will be dedicated to corrective maintenance of CATALA engines in production. They will need to analyze incidents, identify malfunctions, propose necessary corrections, and participate in their implementation, while respecting quality, security, and contractual deadlines.
They will collaborate with OCaml / CATALA technical experts, developers, and the client's functional teams to ensure the coherence of developments and the proper consideration of business needs.
Finally, they will be responsible for producing and updating technical deliverables associated with their interventions, including documented source code, test reports, and installation, implementation, and usage documentation.
Profile Sought
Experienced developer ideally with 3 to 5 years or more of IT development experience, with skills in OCaml or an equivalent functional language (Haskell, Scala, F#).
Knowledge of Java, C, JavaScript, TypeScript, Git, and GitHub is expected.
Experience in compiler development, testing tools, debugging, and continuous integration is a plus.
Work Environment
The consultant will work in a technical environment specialized in open-source software development, functional programming, and application maintenance. They will participate in the development and improvement of tools associated with the CATALA language, in collaboration with the client's technical and functional teams.
Work Arrangements:
- Location: Paris 13th and remote work.
- Work predominantly remotely.
- On-site presence: 0 to 10% for standard services, for indicative purposes.
- Corrective maintenance: 100% on client site, according to the job description.
- Framework agreement duration: 2 to 4 years.
- Estimated volume: 482 days over 4 years.
- Target team: 2 developers, minimum contractual of 1.
- Recommended experience: 3 to 5 years minimum.
- Higher activity in the first year, with 245 estimated days.
