Controlling Lead / SAP Public Cloud

Project overview

We are looking for an SAP Controlling Lead to support an international Finance transformation project around SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

As part of this mission, you will act as the primary point of contact for SAP Controlling / Finance Controlling topics and contribute to the design of the target solution, the preparation of the migration, and the alignment of management control and FP&A needs.

Your responsibilities

Coordination and representation of management control

Functional design and decision-making

Challenging the SAP solution

Migration preparation

Work in particular on the following master data:

Define the data reconciliation and settlement approach;

Participate in the validation of the quality and consistency of migrated data.

Corporate FP&A and reporting

The processes covered may include:

Candidate profile

You ideally have:

A minimum of 10 years of experience in management control, cost accounting, FP&A, or an equivalent field;

At least one full deployment or migration experience to SAP S/4HANA, as a Lead, functional expert, or Key User;

Knowledge of SAP Group Reporting and/or SAP Analytics Cloud is a plus.

Experience in an international or multi-entity group;

A good understanding of intercompany allocation and group reporting issues;

Experience in project or service-oriented environments: WBS elements, project costs and revenues, professional services;

Experience in a Business Process Owner or domain lead role would be appreciated.

Technical and functional skills

You master:

SAP Controlling concepts:

Management control and cost accounting processes;

Design principles in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition;

The fit-to-standard approach and standard extension possibilities;

Definition of derivation, substitution, and validation rules;

Preparation of configuration values usable by project teams;

Principles of master data and Controlling balance migration;

Data reconciliation techniques;

Design of reporting, KPIs, and margin indicators.

A SAP Finance or SAP Controlling certification on the Public Cloud solution is appreciated, but not mandatory.

• Be the main point of contact for all management control topics;
• Represent the Controlling and FP&A teams to the project teams, the SAP integrator, and the business units
• Coordinate contributions from management controllers, FP&A teams, business units, and international entities;
• Consolidate needs and proposals to emerge a common position;
• Mobilize business experts necessary for decision-making;
• Ensure a global and coherent vision of Controlling issues at the group level.
• Participate in workshops, design meetings, and governance bodies;
• Prepare functional contributions, business rules, and configuration values;
• Contribute to the definition of target processes in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition;
• Prepare decision documents for management;
• Get structuring choices validated by the Finance sponsor before implementation;
• Ensure consistency between the needs of Controlling, Finance, Purchasing, project management, and interfaces;
• Produce and maintain process-based design documentation.
• Challenge the proposals of the integrator and project teams;
• Ensure rigorous application of the fit-to-standard approach;
• Evaluate deviations from the standard and ensure they are justified and documented;
• Identify functional risks, dependencies, and potential coverage gaps;
• Escalate blocking points and disagreements to program management;
• Propose pragmatic trade-offs reconciling functional coverage, simplicity, and maintainability.
• Prepare migration work for the Controlling scope;
• Contribute to the definition of data to be migrated and recovery rules;
