Coordinating Engineering Advisor - Mechanical Engineering (secondment)

Project overview

As a coordinating engineering advisor, you will provide input for contracts and advise during the execution of maintenance projects for structures like the Haringvlietsluizen and Hollandsche IJsselkering.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Advising, solicited and unsolicited, on mechanical engineering and technology during contract preparation and realization of maintenance contracts
• Acting as a link between employees of Rijkswaterstaat and external market parties
• Assessing and handling questions from market parties about demand specifications
• Reviewing plans, designs, calculations, and inspection reports
• Checking and approving customer requirement specifications in GRIP/Relatics
• Translating customer requirements into unambiguous and SMART contract requirements
• Identifying risks and deviations and contributing to finding solutions
• Providing basic data for cost estimates
• Reviewing delivered products against the contract and recording results in reports
• Ensuring safety prior to maintenance activities
• Consulting with the manager and contractor about the execution of maintenance activities
• Specifying requirements for processes and products related to asset management
• Executing the Verification and Validation process
• Coordinating with both internal and external chain partners
• Completed HBO (University of Applied Sciences) education with at least 5 years of work experience in Mechanical Engineering, or at least 5 years of demonstrable experience in a comparable field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with coordinating and/or contract management
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with subjects such as Systems Engineering, machine safety, occupational safety, and design frameworks and guidelines
• VCA certificate 'Safety for Operational Managers' (VOL), in possession or willing to obtain within 2 months
• GPI certificate 'Generic Gate Instruction', in possession or willing to obtain within 2 months
• Knowledge and experience with (electro-)mechanical systems is a plus
• Experience with movable bridges, locks, or weirs is a plus
• Experience with a client organization like Rijkswaterstaat is a plus
