Lemon is an equal opportunity employer. We treat all applications confidentially and based on competencies.
- Designing, building, and optimizing reliable data pipelines (e.g., with PySpark, Delta Lake, and the Medallion Architecture).
- Integrating and structuring data in cloud environments, bridging the gap between raw data and usable business insights.
- Working with advanced SQL and Python solutions to ensure data flows are smooth and performant.
- Contributing to the design and implementation of Infrastructure as Code (such as Terraform) to smartly deploy our data infrastructure.
- Actively sharing knowledge during lunch & learns and providing collegial feedback through peer reviews or code reviews.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the data architecture and engineering methodologies within Lemon.
- Python & SQL: You are strong in Python (for data pipelines) and have advanced knowledge of SQL (think window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning).
- Databricks & Spark or Snowflake: You have practical experience with a modern data platform. This could be Databricks (PySpark, cluster management, job optimization) or a data warehousing platform like Snowflake (architecture, data sharing) or Azure Synapse. Knowledge of Kimball is a plus!
- Cloud Platforms (Azure or AWS): You are comfortable in the cloud. You have practical experience with Azure (e.g., Data Factory, Blob Storage, Key Vault) and/or AWS (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, IAM). Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric is also great.
- Infrastructure as Code: You have at least a basic or intermediate understanding of tools like Terraform for deploying infrastructure.
- Communication: You can express yourself fluently in both Dutch and English for smooth business communication.
- Experience with Streaming (Apache Kafka, Event Hubs, Spark Structured Streaming) for real-time data.
- Knowledge of Orchestration & CI/CD (Airflow, Azure Data Factory pipelines, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI).
- Familiarity with Data Governance (Unity Catalog or Snowflake governance features) or Frontend tools (like PowerBI).
- Certifications are an absolute cherry on top, such as:
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
- Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
- AWS Certified Data Analytics
- Snowflake SnowPro Core/Advanced
- Typically a few years (4
- 6 years) of relevant experience as a Data or BI Engineer, preferably at a Medior or Senior level. An academic background (Bachelor/Master) in an IT or quantitative field is nice, but your demonstrable skills and tech-driven mindset are most important to us!
- Values: We encourage a culture of respect and open dialogue.
- Flexibility: Flexible working hours and a pleasant hybrid working arrangement (home working possible) to support a healthy balance. Contract type is negotiable (Full-time or Freelance).
- Development: The Lemon Academy is central for knowledge sharing, mentorship, and obtaining extra certifications (which we are happy to support!).
- Inclusivity: We support reasonable adjustments in the work environment or processes so that you can function optimally.
- Compensation: An all-in salary package (or market-rate fee for freelancers) that grows with your impact. For permanent employees, this includes a flexible remuneration plan, meal vouchers, a company car with a fuel card, a high-performance laptop, and a comfortable mobile phone subscription.
- Care & Well-being: Comprehensive hospitalization insurance and outpatient insurance covering a wide range of medical costs.
