Databricks Engineer/Architect

6-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | £450-£600 per day Remote/Hybrid (UK) Global Consultancy

We're supporting a global consultancy on the search for an experienced Databricks Engineer/Architect to join a major data transformation programme.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can operate across the full data lifecycle, from designing scalable architectures through to building and optimising data pipelines. The successful contractor will be a true Databricks specialist, capable of combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering delivery.

• Design and implement scalable, cloud-based data architectures using Databricks.
• Build and optimise end-to-end data pipelines supporting analytics and Business Intelligence initiatives.
• Lead the development of modern Lakehouse and data platform solutions.
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to define data strategy and architecture.
• Establish best practices across data engineering, governance, performance optimisation and platform design.
• Support data platform modernisation and transformation initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining heavily involved in hands-on delivery.
• Strong commercial experience with Databricks in both engineering and architecture capacities.
• Proven track record designing and building end-to-end data platforms.
• Expertise in data pipeline development, ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with modern cloud data architectures and Lakehouse methodologies.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders, gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Consultancy or client-facing experience is highly desirable.
• Contract Length: 6 Months
• Day Rate: £450-£600 per day
