Overall objective: improve the service continuity of critical databases for an e-commerce platform and support their transformation towards modern, secure, and scalable architectures.

Strong project constraint: dual DBA Production + Study skills are essential to guarantee both the stability of the current platform and the success of our modernization.

Work environment

• Guarantee the availability, performance, and security of the e-commerce platform's critical databases.
• Administer SQL Server environments (AlwaysOn, backups, DR/BCP, monitoring, capacity planning).
• Diagnose complex production incidents and participate in crisis management.
• Implement maintenance, optimization, and version upgrade plans.
• Guarantee backups, restores, and recovery tests.
• Support development teams from the design phases.
• Challenge data models and technical choices.
• Participate in technical reviews and validate Pull Requests impacting databases.
• Optimize SQL queries and support developers on performance issues.
• Define best practices for development around data access.
• Actively participate in the platform's transformation around several technologies. Contribute to migration, modernization, and architecture simplification projects.
• Industrialize database deployments.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Automate recurring operations.
• Participate in the implementation of CI/CD pipelines. Contribute to various projects and the implementation of different solutions/applications using databases.
• At least 10 years of professional experience.
• Production DBA, capable of administering critical SQL Server databases that form the core of the e-commerce platform, while also being a Study DBA capable of supporting development teams upstream of projects. This dual Production + Study skillset is essential to guarantee both the stability of the current platform and the success of our modernization.
• The candidate must be able to:
• Challenge modeling choices and SQL developments,
• Validate the technical impacts of changes,
• Participate in code reviews (Pull Requests),
• Anticipate performance issues before production deployment,
• Support the platform's transformation towards PostgreSQL, Couchbase, and Cloud services.
• Databases: Strong expertise in SQL Server Enterprise, AlwaysOn, SQL Tuning, Indexing, Partitioning, Backups, Replication, and High Availability
• Good knowledge of: PostgreSQL, Patroni, Couchbase, and Cloud Databases
• Architecture: Ability to intervene in data modeling, application architecture, high availability, resilience, DRP/BCP work, performance, and scalability
• DevOps: Git, CI/CD, Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible
• Systems: Linux, Windows, VMware, and Kubernetes (notions)
