Job description
Freelance DDC programmer needed for a rail project using Phoenix Contact (Emalytics), with long-term collaboration and primarily remote work. The role involves programming DDC stations based on provided plans and specifications.
Project overview
For a long-term client in building automation, we are looking for a freelance DDC programmer for a rail project based on Phoenix Contact (Emalytics). Further, smaller projects are to follow.
Our client handles project management and commissioning themselves. They outsource the programming to experienced freelancers. This model is already successful with other manufacturers and is now to be established for Phoenix Contact as well. An explicit long-term partnership is sought, not a one-off assignment.
Ideal as a supplement to your existing projects
The project is not a classic full-time assignment over many months. It is particularly suitable if you are not currently fully utilized and want to increase your workload meaningfully. The programming is done predominantly remotely and in plannable work packages. You can therefore easily schedule it alongside other projects and clients.
At the same time, this model supports your entrepreneurial independence: you work independently, for multiple clients in parallel, and without being integrated into the client's organization. This is a clear advantage, also with regard to bogus self-employment.
Our client explicitly seeks long-term cooperation over several years. Once you are familiar with the system, you will be repeatedly requested for remote programming and commissioning in future projects. This allows you to build a reliable, recurring customer relationship.
Process:
- Installation planning with definition of data points and DDC assignment by the client
- Programming of the DDC stations according to the data point list by you (from January 2027)
- Structured handover to project management
- Support during commissioning (expected June/July 2027)
Responsibilities
- DDC programming based on Phoenix Contact / Emalytics
- Implementation according to installation plan, data point list, and functional description
- Integration of common interfaces (BACnet, Modbus, M-Bus or similar)
- Documentation and handover to project management
- Participation in commissioning and acceptance
Requirements
