Developer for WordPress (PHP, HTML, CSS/SCSS and JavaScript)

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced WordPress developer (m/f/d) for the long-term technical support and further development of our company websites.

Our WordPress environment is based on an individually developed custom theme. Therefore, we are looking for someone who can confidently familiarize themselves with existing, individually developed code structures and reliably develop them further.

The focus of the collaboration is less on web design and more on technical development and support.

We are not looking for a classic web designer, but for a technically adept WordPress developer who works independently and is solution-oriented.

We particularly value a reliable working method, good communication, and a proactive approach to technical challenges. In case of problems or optimization potential, we want not only an analysis but also concrete solution proposals.

Since this involves the ongoing support of our websites, reliable responsiveness during normal working hours is also important to us. We want to agree on a realistic framework for inquiries and technical topics together – for example, an initial response within up to 48 hours, depending on the urgency and nature of the topic. For critical disruptions, shorter response times should be coordinated accordingly.

The collaboration is planned for the long term.

• Ongoing technical support and further development of our WordPress websites
• Familiarization with an existing individual WordPress codebase
• Development and integration of new functions and modules
• Technical implementation of new subpages and landing pages
• Error analysis, troubleshooting, and sustainable problem-solving
• Performance optimization and improvement of loading times
• Support for updates, backups, and recovery processes
• Assistance with technical hosting topics
• Identification of technical optimization possibilities and proactive development of corresponding solution proposals
• Very good WordPress knowledge and sound experience with custom themes
• Very good knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript
• Experience working with WordPress databases
• Technical understanding of hosting environments
• Experience with performance optimization and caching
• Good knowledge in the areas of WordPress security, updates, backups, and recovery
• Experience with WordPress Multisite
• Basic knowledge in the areas of technical SEO & GEO
• Experience with the integration, technical implementation, or connection of AI chatbots
• Experience with APIs and interfaces to external systems
