Development of Nonwoven Material Compounds in the Automotive Sector

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced material developer for the conception and optimization of nonwovens for the automotive industry. In this role, you will independently work on the development of fiber blends based on cotton and polyester and accompany them from the concept phase to series production.

Your tasks include the selection and continuous improvement of fiber blends to meet acoustic, mechanical, and customer-specific requirements. You will plan, conduct, and evaluate material tests, laboratory investigations, and production trials, and document them systematically.

For this position, you bring several years of experience in the development of nonwovens, fiber materials, or technical textiles. You have sound knowledge in material development, materials engineering, and technical textiles. A deep understanding of the interactions between fiber blends, process parameters, and resulting material properties is essential.

Practical experience in airlay, nonwoven, or comparable manufacturing and processing methods is a prerequisite. You have experience in planning and evaluating experimental series as well as targeted optimization of acoustic and mechanical properties.

Proficient German and English skills in speaking and writing are required. Willingness for national and international business trips is expected. The position is located on-site in North Rhine-Westphalia and offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative material development projects.
