Background of the Assignment
The work is carried out within the Data and DevOps Engineering Section of the Knowledge and Innovation Directorate of COMMIT. The Directorate of Knowledge & Innovation aims to make the latest materiel and IT solutions applicable to our military personnel so they can win the fight. To make this possible, the focus is on accelerating the organization's adaptability. Therefore, the Directorate K&I focuses on knowledge building, innovation, and the relationship between them. We do this by organizing the direction of knowledge building for materiel and IT within COMMIT.
We also experiment, facilitate, and realize innovations. This also applies to the integration of materiel and IT. People, processes, and technology are taken into account integrally so that successful operational innovations have an effect in the combat practice of Defense.
We, as Directorate K&I, are successful when we are able to maintain a combat advantage for our military personnel through knowledge building and innovations.
The DATA department focuses on developing, managing, and making data and AI platforms available within Defense. The GenAI team focuses on realizing secure and managed generative AI solutions and the associated platform facilities. The focus is on:
developing and integrating modern AI technologies,
making Large Language Models (LLMs) available,
supporting AI applications
developing standards for secure use and management.
The GenAI team consists of data scientists and DevOps/data engineers who are responsible for the development, implementation, and further development of AI platforms and the technical facilities required to make generative AI available within Defense.

eCF Profile: DevOps Expert
Reference Area: B.04 Implementing Solutions
This assignment is based on the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF). This is a European standard for describing IT competencies and the associated level of responsibility. The e-CF profile indicates which competencies and at what level (e-1 to e-5) are expected from the candidate. We expect candidates to clearly demonstrate these competencies in their CV. This can be done by describing for each relevant assignment or position:
what role the candidate fulfilled
what tasks and responsibilities were involved
to what extent these align with the required eCF competencies and the level
CVs in which the required eCF competencies cannot be demonstrably found cannot be fully assessed for suitability.
Candidate has at least 3 years of demonstrable work experience with the chosen eCF profile in a similar role.
Candidate preferably has demonstrable work experience with DevSecOps (DevOps).
