Job description

Stedin is seeking an Engineer E & G to design the electricity grid of the future and contribute to the energy transition. The role involves complex problem-solving related to grid capacity, feed-in, and sustainable energy.

Project overview

Stedin is looking for an Engineer E & G. (ZZP NOT POSSIBLE) Indicative hourly rate is €75,- all-in, excluding VAT.

Nice to have

Work you can be proud of.

This is what you will do.

Due to the energy transition, we have more work than ever. We are switching to electric cars. Generating our own energy and feeding it back into the grid. And we prefer to stop using gas. Plenty to do for Engineers. Because what our customers want, you will design. You will calculate which grid cables are needed, where our mechanics will lay them, where the transformer stations will be located, and how the route will run. No matter how complex, for every project, you will aim for the technically best solution at the lowest possible cost.

You will continuously liaise with project leaders, customer advisors, and other parties. But you will also deal with unexpected factors. From a rare breeding pair to asbestos, from archaeology to old cables. Whatever comes your way, you will advise and create insight into possibilities and costs.

How your workday might look.

As an engineer, no day is the same. Since corona, we work flexibly: sometimes at the office and sometimes at home. After setting up and preparing your day, you will handle important emails. Then you will focus on different types of projects where you can use your technical expertise. You will perform calculations and analyses to ensure projects can be executed safely. Projects can vary enormously depending on the type of customer request. For example, you might be designing a charging station connection one moment and a feed-in connection the next.

Projects that come in are usually customer requests from mijn aansluiting.nl. Weekly, you will have physical meetings with your team to share knowledge and improve collaboration with stakeholders. Finally, at the end of your workday, you will be planning for the next day. In short, the life of an engineer is varied and challenging. Every day, hard work is done to solve problems and develop innovative solutions to be successful in this rapidly changing energy transition. You are the technical spider in the web!

Your strengths.

We are happy with.

You are strong in statistics, analytical, and known for your technical insight. You are serious, but also pleasant to interact with. You work independently but are also a team player. You are a creative problem-solver and capable of bringing others along with your ideas. No matter how complex the project.

What else might make you our new Engineer?

A good team.

That's where you belong.

From day one, you will be part of the Engineer team within the Consumer department. The Engineer team consists of approximately 10 Engineers and 7 detail engineers. The team is a mix of young people and colleagues with years of experience, so you will learn a lot from each other and arrive at the best solution together. You will join an open and close-knit team where everyone is willing to help each other. We work flexibly at the Delft location and from home.

  • You will design the electricity grid of the future and contribute directly to the energy transition.
  • You will work on complex issues regarding grid capacity, feed-in, and sustainable energy.
  • You will have ample room for your own insights, technical deepening, and collaboration with various disciplines.
  • You have a completed HBO (University of Applied Sciences) degree (in the direction of) energy technology/mechanical engineering.
  • You have 3-5 years of experience with complex technical installations.
  • You enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of Irene, GAIA, and Vision is a plus.
  • You are willing to follow additional courses, such as Expert Designer Low Voltage.
