Engineering Manager

Project overview

For our client, a renowned transmission system operator, we are looking for an Engineering Manager for demanding projects within the scope of grid expansion, to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

Professional leadership and management of interdisciplinary engineering teams as well as ensuring efficient resource planning. Coordination of technical interfaces between engineering disciplines, project packages, EPCI contractors, purchasing, logistics, operations, and external stakeholders. Development and implementation of engineering strategies, standards, processes, and governance structures. Ensuring the consistent integration of technical, operational, regulatory, and safety-relevant requirements into the overall design. Monitoring engineering progress, milestones, resources, deadlines, and costs.

Ensuring technical quality, compliance with relevant standards and specifications, as well as identification and management of technical risks. Monitoring compliance with technical, contractual, qualitative, and HSE requirements by external partners. Central point of contact for project management, management, contractors, authorities, and other project participants. Change and Claim Management: Support with technical changes, supplements, contractual issues, and risk assessment. Support for engineering activities through the construction and installation phase up to commissioning and project handover.

Requirements

Completed university degree in engineering, for example in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering, or systems engineering. At least 10 years of professional experience in engineering, including demonstrable experience in the implementation of complex large-scale projects with multiple technical disciplines. Several years of experience in leading and managing engineering teams within large infrastructure projects or comparable programs. Sound knowledge in engineering management, system integration, and the management of complex project processes.

Experience in planning and managing resources, budgets, deadlines, and project priorities. Knowledge of relevant technical standards, regulatory requirements, quality management systems, and HSE standards. Experience in technical risk management as well as in the coordination of complex interfaces and different stakeholders. Experience in international, interdisciplinary project environments, additional language skills are an advantage.
