Experienced freelance Engineering Manager sought for a challenging network expansion infrastructure project, requiring leadership of interdisciplinary teams and responsibility for engineering strategies, planning, and execution.
Project overview
For a demanding infrastructure project in the area of network expansion, we are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager on a freelance basis. The position is designed for 24 months and offers flexible working structures with a 50% remote and 50% onsite component.
As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the technical leadership and management of interdisciplinary engineering teams. You will develop and implement engineering strategies, standards, and governance structures and ensure efficient resource planning. Key tasks include interface management between different engineering disciplines, project packages, and external partners, as well as the technical integration of requirements from operations, regulatory affairs, and safety into the overall design.
You will monitor engineering progress, milestones, resources, and costs, and will be responsible for quality and risk management. You will ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations and identify technical risks early on. You will coordinate external contractors and act as the central point of contact for project management, management, authorities, and other stakeholders. Additionally, you will support change and claim management and oversee engineering activities from the construction and installation phase through to commissioning.
A completed university degree in engineering, at least 10 years of professional experience in the implementation of complex large-scale projects, and several years of leadership experience in engineering teams are required. Sound knowledge in engineering management, system integration, technical standards, and HSE standards is necessary. Experience in technical risk management and in international, interdisciplinary project environments is advantageous.
