Job description

The client is looking for an experienced Enterprise/Domain Architect to evolve a complex IT and application landscape, focusing on the technical and business architecture of a central enterprise domain.

Project overview

Our client is looking for short-term support from an experienced Enterprise/Domain Architect (m/f/d) for the further development of a complex IT and application landscape. The focus is on the business and technical architecture of a central enterprise domain with numerous applications, data flows, interfaces, and dependencies.

The search is for an experienced architect who can systematically analyze existing 'as-is' architectures, develop target states, and prepare architectural decisions with sound reasoning. The focus is not on operational development, but on architecture control, reviews, impact analyses, and the evaluation of integration, migration, and transformation scenarios.

A central task is to translate business requirements into viable solution and architecture concepts together with business and IT stakeholders. This requires a good understanding of business processes and business capabilities, as well as modern integration, middleware, and interface architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Review, consolidation, and further development of existing business and technical architectures
  • Analysis of the existing system and application landscape and development of target architectures
  • Evaluation of 'as-is', transition, and target architectures
  • Creation of transparent overviews of applications, data, integrations, information flows, and business domains
  • Analysis and evaluation of existing applications and identification of architecture and transformation needs
  • Evaluation of business requirements and translation into suitable architecture and solution approaches
  • Mapping of architecture components to business processes, business capabilities, and business functions
  • Conducting impact and risk analyses for planned changes and transformations
  • Evaluation of integration, migration, and transformation scenarios
  • Identification of technical risks, bottlenecks, and critical dependencies
  • Derivation and prioritization of suitable architectural measures
  • Ensuring compliance with existing architectural principles, standards, and governance guidelines
  • Coordination with product teams, solution architects, technical leads, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Support with architecture governance, decision-making processes, and architecture reviews
  • Accompanying transformation projects and supporting architectural decisions
