Enterprise PMO Lead

I am not seeking a traditional project manager or PMO administrator. I need a leader who can establish and mature an enterprise program management capability while preserving business ownership and applying governance in proportion to initiative complexity, risk, and enterprise impact.

Immediate Need

Establish a clear initial mandate, intake approach, and boundaries for the Enterprise PMO.

Build reliable portfolio visibility across qualifying enterprise initiatives.

Create practical governance, stage gates, decision rights, and executive operating routines.

Improve prioritization, investment decision support, and leadership transparency.

Set standards for program planning, status, risks, dependencies, benefits, and escalation.

Provide selective execution support where complexity, risk, or enterprise importance warrants it.

Partner with business sponsors, the Enterprise Business Architect, Enterprise Data Team, Business Enablement, and IT PMO.

Develop and coach program management talent while scaling the capability responsibly.

How the Candidate Should Think

Preferred approach: Business Strategy -> Portfolio -> Program -> Project

Less aligned: Project Schedule -> Status Report -> Task Completion

What Strong Performance Looks Like

Builds structure where structure does not yet exist.

Keeps governance practical, useful, and tied to decisions.

Creates an executive view that leaders trust and use.

Operates credibly with senior executives and across organizational boundaries.

Personally drives the initial setup while developing a sustainable team and operating model.

Connects portfolio governance to measurable execution and business outcomes.

Balances strategic leadership with a roll-up-your-sleeves operating style.
