Experienced COBOL Developer Analyst - AS400 H/F

Project overview

As part of the maintenance and evolution of its application portfolio, our client, a player in the insurance sector, is looking for two experienced AS400 / COBOL Analyst Developers.

You will work on life insurance contract management applications, handling both maintenance activities and new developments.

In close collaboration with the business, technical, and infrastructure teams, you will ensure the quality and reliability of the developments carried out.

Your main activities

· Analyze needs and interact with users.

· Take charge of maintenance requests and project evolutions.

· Provide user support.

· Write detailed technical specifications.

· Participate in design and carry out developments.

· Perform unit tests and ensure the quality of deliverables.

· Write technical documentation and operational guides.

· Monitor and report on your activities to the manager and the project team.

Profile sought

With an IT background, you have significant experience in AS400 / COBOL development.

You are capable of working autonomously throughout the entire development cycle, from needs analysis to delivery.

You also have good analytical and writing skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and enjoy interacting with business teams.

Autonomy, rigor, adaptability, and teamwork will be essential qualities for success in this mission.

Work environment

· COBOL on AS400: excellent command essential (approximately 95% of developments).

· DB2.

· Native AS400: CLP, SDA, SEU, RLU, Query, and SQL.

· Mastery of development environments and associated tools.

· Good knowledge of the application development cycle, from analysis to production.

· Proficiency in office tools Excel and Word.

Appreciated skills

· RPG.

· COBOL ILE.

· ARCAD.

· Knowledge of the life insurance sector would be a plus.
