The position
Children have the right to be cared for, guided, and raised in a safe living environment. Parents are primarily responsible for this. However, sometimes they are (temporarily) unable to care for their children or need support.
As a Youth Consultant, you are the case manager for the family. Your task is to ensure safety, arrange appropriate care, and provide support across all life domains. As a Youth Consultant, you take action in cases of (severe) family problems. Think of (acrimonious) divorces, abuse, and maltreatment. Or other forms that affect the child's peace and safety.
As a Youth Consultant, you have a vast range of knowledge regarding youth, both specialized and general. The role focuses not only on the young person but on the entire family. Together with the family and relevant agencies, you ensure that a thorough action plan is developed for the issues within the family.
