Job description

We are looking for a Youth Doctor to join the Youth Healthcare team in the West-Brabant region. The role involves assessing the growth and development of children aged 0-18, collaborating with parents and other healthcare professionals, and contributing to public health initiatives.

Project overview

What will you do

Please note: No ZZP (freelancer) construction possible

Do you only know GGD West-Brabant from the travel vaccinations and the corona tasks of recent years? Then you are not alone. The GGD does more! Such as monitoring the growth and development of children and answering parents' questions about health, upbringing, and behavior. These questions increasingly have a socio-economic character, requiring a proactive approach. What is the impact on children of divorce, debt, puberty, death in the family, or trauma? Youth healthcare plays an important role in this, together with schools and other care partners.

Do you want to help care for all children from 0 to 18 years old in the West-Brabant region? Then we are looking for you!

As a doctor in youth healthcare, you will look at the growth and development of the child with a broad socio-medical perspective. During consultations, you will examine physical and mental health and discuss with parents or guardians what is needed for healthy growth and development. If necessary, you will refer them. You will do this together with (medical) assistants, nurses, and nurse practitioners. You will also shape the implementation of the National Vaccination Program for ages 0 to 18. You will be medically (ultimately) responsible at the vaccination location.

A large part of your work takes place outside the consultation room and the vaccination location. You will contribute to the positioning of youth healthcare in local and regional networks. By coordinating with schools, caregivers, and other stakeholders, you will gain a complete picture and an integrated plan. You are the connecting link between the world in which children grow up and the (para)medical world. Between society and policymakers & administrators. For example, you will maintain contact with municipalities and advise them on a healthy environment for growing children.

Your team

The region includes locations such as Roosendaal, Rucphen, Moerdijk, and particularly Halderberge. Together, they are part of the Youth Healthcare (JGZ) sector. You will work in a team consisting of doctors, a nurse practitioner, nurses, and (medical) assistants.
