Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (AI & Application Modernisation)
We are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join a Professional Services team focused on helping enterprise organisations modernise applications, accelerate AI adoption, and deliver meaningful business outcomes. This is a highly customer-facing role, working closely with engineering teams, architects, product professionals, and senior stakeholders across strategic customer accounts.
In this position, you'll partner directly with customers to solve complex technical problems and support transformational technology initiatives. This may include modernising Legacy applications, conducting architecture and performance assessments, designing scalable cloud-native solutions, and identifying opportunities to use AI and agentic workflows to improve efficiency and create business value. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on engineering, requiring the ability to move seamlessly from discovery and solution design through to implementation and delivery.
We're looking for someone who combines strong software engineering expertise with excellent consulting and stakeholder management skills. You'll be comfortable working in evolving environments, understanding business priorities, translating them into practical technical solutions, and building strong relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
We welcome candidates from both modern application engineering and AI-focused backgrounds. Experience with technologies such as Next.js, React, TypeScript, cloud platforms, software architecture, AI agents, Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG, and intelligent automation will be highly valued. Previous experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Professional Services, Consulting, or senior technical roles is particularly relevant.
