Freelance AI Developer / AI Solutions Architect

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced freelance AI Consultant / AI Solutions Architect for a medium-sized company to conceptualize and implement AI-supported customer and business processes.

The first step involves developing an AI-supported assistant for the company website and WhatsApp. The solution should answer customer inquiries automatically and, in the future, be expanded with functions such as appointment scheduling, pre-qualification of inquiries, and access to internal product and company data.

We are looking for a personality who not only develops but also structures requirements, evaluates technical solutions, and creates a realistic implementation plan. Seniority is not strictly required. Applications from mid-level and experienced junior candidates with relevant project experience are explicitly welcome.

Responsibilities

Must-have requirements

• Analysis of existing customer and business processes
• Development of an AI roadmap including MVP concept
• Conception and implementation of an AI chatbot for website and WhatsApp
• Building a scalable and modular AI architecture
• Connecting external systems via APIs and interfaces
• Integration of data sources, databases, and other company systems
• Conception of workflows for automating customer inquiries
• Implementation of monitoring and optimization mechanisms
• Consulting on data protection, anonymization, and secure handling of sensitive data
• Support in prioritizing further AI use cases
• Several years of practical experience in developing productive AI solutions
• Experience with chatbots, AI assistants, agent systems, or comparable applications
• Profound knowledge in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and RAG architectures
• Experience with WhatsApp integrations and web-based chat solutions
• Experience in connecting APIs, databases, and third-party systems
• Knowledge of workflow automation and process optimization
• Experience with technical architecture decisions and solution design
• Ability to independently gather requirements and translate them into understandable technical concepts
• Confident handling of data protection requirements and sensitive data
