Project overview

My client in yacht building is currently looking for several freelance designers (m/f/d) for the area of furniture construction and yacht interior finishing.

The focus is on the technical implementation of furniture and interior finishing elements for high-quality yachts. You will work at the interface between design, construction, and manufacturing, preparing the corresponding components for further processing in the carpentry shop and CNC machine park.

Several qualified specialists with good SolidWorks knowledge and a good understanding of technical construction and manufacturing processes are sought.

Position: Furniture Designer Yacht Interior Finishing (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

• Design of furniture and furniture components for yacht interior finishing
• Technical implementation and preparation of existing design specifications
• Creation and adaptation of 3D models and technical drawings in SolidWorks
• Consideration of the installation situation and efficient use of available installation spaces
• Design considering wood and wood panel materials, especially pressed wood composites
• Revision and further processing of existing designs and CAD models
• Consideration of the practical feasibility and manufacturability of the designed components
• If necessary, preparation of designs for further processing and CNC manufacturing

• Good knowledge of SolidWorks
• Experience in CAD design, ideally in furniture construction, interior finishing, or product design
• Ideally, experience with wood and wood panel materials, especially pressed wood composites
• Good spatial imagination and understanding of installation space analyses
• Sense for sensible and efficient design, considering the material
• Independent and structured way of working
