Job description
Seeking an experienced freelance environmental construction supervisor for a railway power mast infrastructure project near Nuremberg/Fürth. The role involves monitoring environmental aspects of construction work at seven mast locations, with a focus on soil, groundwater, and nature conservation.
Project overview
For an infrastructure project in the Nuremberg/Fürth area, we are seeking an experienced freelance environmental construction supervisor on short notice.
The project involves construction work at a total of seven railway power mast locations. The work will be carried out punctually at the respective mast locations and not along a continuous work strip. Provisional structures for two masts, and possibly two more, are to be completed before the winter break. Construction site activities are expected to resume around April 2027.
The technical focus is on soil and soil protection, groundwater and hydrology, and partly on species and nature conservation. In addition to environmental monitoring, safe and solution-oriented communication with farmers, landowners, contractors, and other project participants is particularly important.
Responsibilities
- Environmental supervision of construction work at the individual railway power mast locations
- Monitoring the construction process, protective measures, and land use for compliance with agreed specifications
- Monitoring compliance with official requirements, ancillary provisions, and nature conservation construction time restrictions
- Supervision and monitoring of soil protection measures, soil samples, soil storage, and the restoration of affected areas
- Supervision of water-related measures, for example in connection with groundwater, hydrology, or dewatering
- Coordination with farmers, landowners, clients, executing trades, specialist planners, and possibly authorities
- Coordination of the temporary use of access roads, work areas, provisional structures, anchor areas, and areas for soil disposal
- Monitoring of required protective measures such as gravel, fleece, or base plates to prevent unnecessary land damage
- Documentation of initial and execution conditions through photos or videos
- Recording and tracking of land damage, deviations, measures, responsibilities, and open points
- Early communication and escalation of environmental deviations or impending damage
- Creation of comprehensible site visit and status documentation
